About Us

Steve Bender, President of FACTORx, has worked in the healthcare communications field since 1986, having begun his career in medical publishing. He has more than 15 years’ experience in utilizing national-scope medical claims data to objectively measure the impact of CME participants' performance pre- and post-intervention.

Mr. Bender is a frequent speaker at industry meetings and his research work has been presented at a variety of national meetings such as:

FACTORx’s R.A.P.I.D.® CME initiative was the recipient of the National Association of Medical Education Companies Award for Best Educational Design and Educational Effectiveness in 2010 and ACEHP’s IACE section award for Best-in-Class Outcomes in 2017 and 2014. FACTORx also received ACEHP’s IACE section award for Best-in-Class Outcomes in 2019 and 2022 recognizing our novel outcomes and distribution approaches.

Prior to founding FACTORx, Mr. Bender previously held senior management positions at Curatio CME Institute, The Chatham Institute, Global Edge, Rodale Inc., McGraw-Hill, and Bobit Business Media.

What’s in a name?

In the ever-changing CME environment, we’re constantly challenged to identify the next ‘X’ factor in continuing education, whether it be the latest educational design (P.I. and Q.I. come to mind) or the hottest format (flipped classroom and patient centered) for the identified target audience. FACTORx partners with best-in-class organizations to find the ideal fit for every CME activity that we develop.

This strategy allows us to partner with medical directors, medical education companies, professional associations/societies, patient advocacy organizations, platform specialists and distribution channels who have specific expertise and reach in a given therapeutic category.

The FACTOR in our name stems from our outcomes research work in CME and specifically, our core measurement component, The Potential Patient Impact Factor Analysis. The Rx in our logo reflects our typical learner, the licensed prescriber and our commitment to improved healthcare.
